Asma's a Registered Psychotherapist and educator. She’s with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and she’s a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Profes sionals (OAMPH) and a retired member of the Ontario College of Teachers.

Asma's been practicing psychotherapy with individuals, families and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, personality disorders, relationship and family disputes, grief and loss, physical impairments and further issues since 2012. She works through her Canadian practice, Concentric Care, and also offers psychotherapy to staff at GTA-wide organizations. In 2017, she founded a wellness retreat in Granada, Spain called Maristan. 

Prior to starting Concentric Care, Asma worked as a counsellor with the Hamilton Family Health Team and Stonehenge Therapeutic Community. She was a group counsellor at the Hamilton Family Health Team until February 2017.

In addition to her Masters of Counselling Psychology and experience counselling, Asma is an Ontario Certified Teacher and understands various learning disabilities, learning styles and challenges in the classroom. Asma taught elementary grades for two years before leaving to complete a Masters in Education where she specialized in Adult Education.

Asma utilizes Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in her counselling work. She also completed the ALIF Institute Islamic Psychology degree program in 2019.
